The jingle spells it out: 'M-A-Y-E-R'. Yet, many people insist the bologna brand is spelled 'Oscar Meyer'. Because 'Meyer' is a more common spelling of the surname, our brains overwrite the jingle's lyrics with the familiar text pattern. We sing 'Mayer' but visualize 'Meyer'.
