False Memories

Elementary, My Dear Watson

Sherlock Holmes never says this famous phrase in any of Arthur Conan Doyle's stories. He says 'Elementary' and 'my dear Watson' separately, but never together. The phrase was coined in a parody and popularized by later films, becoming the character's defining catchphrase despite not being in the source material.
