Dr. **Fredric Baur** was an organic chemist and food storage technician who dedicated a significant part of his life to solving the problem of broken, stale potato chips. His solution was the uniform, stackable saddle shape of the chip and the rigid, foil-lined **tubular can** that protected them.

Baur was so proud of this design achievement that he made a specific request for his funeral arrangements. When he died in 2008 at the age of 89, his children honored his wish: they placed part of his cremated ashes into a **Pringles can** and buried it with him. The flavor they chose? **Original.** It was a fitting final resting place for a man who literally reshaped the snacking world.
